Techno-Economic Feasibility Study

The Gujarat 'Project Co-ordinating Consultancy' (PCC) was undertaken by (LASA) of India. Funded by the World Bank, the project commenced in February 1997.

The feasibility study portion of the PCC - in other words, project prioritisation was completed in August 1997 and a preliminary works programme presented. Subsequently, the available funding was increased. A revised works programme was developed.

The PCC has been done into two segment:

Project Preparation

The first segment of work consisted of a feasibility study using techno-economic principles to establish a short-list of roads for improvement. This required a major field survey programme to collect the requisite data for the analysis. Detailed engineering design was then undertaken on 250 km of roads.

Project Implementation

The project implementation work will extend the design process to the remaining roads beyond the 250 km in first segment as well as assisting the Government of Gujarat (GoG) with implementation of the Projects.

Techno-Economic Feasibility Study has described as following:

Demographic Profile
Socio-Economic Profile
Forecast Population and Economy
Data Collection
